How it works
To add GST: Total = Base × (1 + rate/100). To remove GST from an inclusive price: Base = Total / (1 + rate/100), and GST = Total − Base. India has four main slabs — 5%, 12%, 18% and 28% — plus nil-rated (0%) essentials.
How do I remove GST from an inclusive price?
Divide the inclusive price by (1 + GST rate/100). For 18% GST on ₹1,180: 1180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1,000 base and ₹180 GST.
